Bachelor Duales myStudium Marketing*

As this is a business degree programme, mathematics is of course also part of some lectures such as Business Mathematics or Finance & Investment, so a good basic understanding of mathematics is beneficial. However, the main focus of the degree programme is of course marketing.

Openness, assertiveness and strong communication skills are especially important in sales - spelling, creativity and an affinity for technology are particularly important in online marketing, especially for copywriting and blogging.

Of course, it is always helpful if you make your interest in the subject clear and already deepen your previous knowledge independently. This can be done, for example, by taking part in workshops, courses of the Google Future Workshop or other courses, by programming your own website, watching YouTube tutorials on the topic of marketing, expanding your social media profile or acquiring special software skills (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.). In addition, practical experience, in the context of internships and part-time jobs in the field of (online) marketing, or a completed commercial apprenticeship is beneficial.

Some of the tasks you can expect in the Sales & Distribution department are as follows: 

 
Creation of statistics 
Implementation of cooperations and partner programmes 
Conception of E-Commerce solutions and product presentations on the web 
Customer acquisition in the B2B or B2C area 
Customer care (preparation of offers, drafting of contracts, etc.) 
Competitor research and analysis 
Design of information material, flyers etc. 
Possibly organisation of events, customer events, trade fair appearances 
Controlling of the measures implemented through statistics and analyses 
Evaluation of market studies 
Creation of business cases and profitability calculations 
In the area of online marketing, you will have the following tasks, among others: 
 
Editorial design and updating of the website 
Search engine optimisation; search engine marketing (SEO, SEA) 
Writing blog articles, social media support and community management 
Planning and implementation of online marketing campaigns (social media, email, etc.) 
Researching relevant marketing and communication channels 
Drafting campaign and press texts and presentations 
Tracking trends in online marketing 
Supervision of own marketing projects 
Supporting the development, planning and implementation of marketing campaigns 
Development of marketing concepts, concepts for customer retention and/or new customer acquisition 
Developing concepts for E-Commerce solutions and product presentations on the web.

In the dual study programme model, attendance is compulsory for lectures and seminars. This is recorded via corresponding attendance lists. However, attendance is not compulsory in the dual myStudium programme model.

As a student of the IU Duales Studium in Germany, you are generally entitled to BAföG. You can find out whether you meet the relevant requirements on the official BAföG website.

At IU you pay 0 € - because your practice partner takes over your tuition fees.

Dadurch hast Du eine höhere Flexibilität bei der Wahl Deiner Praxis- und Theorietage. Durch die freie Gestaltung des letzten Semesters kannst Du Dich weiter spezialisieren und so für bessere Übernahmechancen sorgen. Außerdem erhöhen sich Deine ECTS-Punkte von 180 auf 210, was die Wahl eines anschließenden Masterstudiengangs vereinfacht.
