In the dual study programme at the IU, the practical part is firmly integrated into your studies. You don't work "on the side", but the work is an integral part of your studies. It is important to us that you can optimally combine both sides - the theoretical courses at the IU and the practical phases in the company.

Dual Study Models
In dual studies at IU, you regularly alternate between theory and practice in the company. You study for half of the week and work for your practice partner for 20 hours the other half of the week.
The theory takes place in one of our two study models, depending on the degree programme and study location:
Dual studies programme (courses on campus)
Dual myStudium programme (voluntary courses on campus or virtually via livestream)
Study at the virtual campus
The virtual campus gives you the chance to study independently of location and to complete your practical training at a company near you! You learn the theory in small groups. You take part in live events and can exchange ideas with fellow students from all over Germany. Find out more about your advantages!
